The Village Family Service Center is holding its Mindfulness Classes 6:30-8 p.m. for six Mondays, beginning Jan. 20, at The Village, 1201 25th St. S., Fargo.
Mindfulness is a life skill that can enhance anyone’s sense of well-being, but it is particularly helpful for dealing with depression and anxiety symptoms. We all live with a constant flow of internal and external events and experiences. Mindfulness teaches us how to respond (rather than react) to these with patience, openness, and compassion.
The Village’s Mindfulness group helps you learn to recognize and disengage from busy or negative mind states. Practice switching gears from the driven/doing mode that is so prevalent in our culture to a more peaceful and effective way of dealing with life’s ups and downs.
